Valpanera is located in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, specifically in the area around Aquileia in northern Italy. The vineyard soils are described as a mix of marine clay, sand, gravelly soils and mineral-rich terrain — a terroir impacted by the sea breeze and geological history.

The winery was established in 1921 by Ignazio Antonutti in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. Today, it is run by four generations of the Antonutti family (Adriana Antonutti, Lino Durandi and their children) continuing the legacy.
